ORLANDO, Fla. (Dec. 18) -
Skeletal remains found in the woods are the Florida 3-year-old who has been missing since June, but they don't reveal any clues about how she was killed, a county medical examiner said Friday. A utility worker stumbled upon the remains last week, less than a half-mile from where the girl lived. DNA tests confirm that the remains match Caylee Anthony's genetic profile, said the medical examiner, Dr. Jan Garavaglia.
Caylee's mother, 22-year-old Casey Anthony, was indicted in October on first-degree murder and other charges, even though no body was found. She has insisted that she left the girl with a baby sitter in June, but she didn't report her missing until July.
Also In July, police released recordings of two calls Anthony's mother, Cindy, made to 911. In one, Cindy said a car driven by Anthony smelled as if it had carried a corpse.
"There's something wrong," she told a dispatcher July 15. "I found my daughter's car today, and it smells like there's been a dead body in the damn car." Now we know: Caycee killed Caylee the day she left her parents home during that big argument and insisted taking Caylee with her, against her parents wishes.
Caycee carried her daughters corpse around in a garbage bag for a period of time during July, probably contemplating where and when she would bury the remains.
DURING THE TIME THAT CAYLEE'S REMAINS WERE IN MOM'S CAR, MOM WAS PARTYING AND DRINKING AS IF LIFE WAS A BOWL OF CHERRIES AND SHE WAS MAKING A FREAKING FRUIT SALAD!! THIS PIC OF CAYCEE WAS TAKEN ON JULY 4th,2008: CAYLEE WAS ALREADY DEAD AND IN THE GARBAGE BAG IN HER TRUNK AT THIS TIME, AND SHE HAD NOT EVEN REPORTED HER MISSING YET. IN THIS PHOTO YOU ARE SEEING A 22 YR.OLD WOMAN WHO HAS MURDERED HER OWN CHILD WITHIN THE LAST WEEK AND A HALF PARTYING AND LOOKING LIKE A HO, NOT EVEN FEELING ANY REMORSE OVER KILLING HER OWN CHILD.THE BABY IS DEAD IN THE DAMN TRUNK WHILE SHE'S POSING FOR THIS PIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caycee then buried her daughters corpse in the wooded area by the utility pole and went on with living her life as she always had, continuing to lie to her parents and to police about her daughters possible where-about's.
Investigators are looking into whether police properly followed up on Kronk's tips, which were called in Aug. 11, 12 and 13.
A childhood friend of Caylee's mother also told police to investigate the same wooded area a month before the meter reader found little Caylee's skeletal remains.
According to the documents released by prosecutors, a pregnant Anthony -- 19 when Caylee was born -- wanted a friend to adopt her baby, but her mother wouldn't hear of it. "[Casey said] that her mom pretty much has told her that no, she needs to keep the baby," Kiomare Torres Cruz told police. (Sources: AP, Orlando Sentinel, People, CNN)
I have no words.
I am so happy to be able to know that you are with Jesus now, Sweet Baby Caylee. Someone could have loved you as if you were their own. Your Grandpa and Grandma loved you. Your Mommy is Mentally Ill. Many of us would have taken you in and raised you as our own in a millisecond.
We will always remember you, and miss seeing your sweet face...even though we were seeing it on The News

any scorching heat; for the Lamb at the centre of the throne will be their
shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of the water of life, and God will wipe
away every tear from their eyes (Rev. 7:16-17).

This case haunted me from day one since I have a 2 year old granddaughter...sadly I always thought her mom got rid of her and in this day and age couldn't understand why it had to end like this!!!! The young mother could have simply walked away and her parents would have raised this precious little girl for her or in spite of her! I'm deeply saddened by the news that she is indeed dead but at least now her grandparents can put this little angel to rest....far away from anyone ever hurting her again!
1I know, MamaD- my dear daughter will be 3 on Dec.28th, and your right- Caylee's grandparents had asked to raise her, and why Caycee wouldn't allow that- but would have rather seen Caylee die than for them to take her in- I will never understand.
Maybe revenge on her parents for not doing everything for her, the exact way she'd wanted them to? Well, not only is Caycee NOT partying like she wanted to now, but Caylee is dead for no reason, and Caycee's parents/Caylee's grandparents now have to live out the remainder of their lives not only missing their granddaughter terribly, but also having to know that their daughter killed her.

2I have followed this case on Nancy Grace from the very beginning. This is very sad. I almost cried watching Nancy Grace tonight. They showed pictures of Caylee and showed the clip of her singing.
3I think Caycee should get the death penalty. And any appeals cards that she tries to play, I hope gets knocked down so they can hurry and take her out. If her daughter can't live then Caycee shouldn't either since she killed the child.
Caycee should have considered adoption over choosing to kill the child, since she obviously didn't want her. This woman is sick in numerous ways.
4What a tragedy. It seems impossible to believe a child could ever be murdered by their own mother.
5Is Kronk the guy the led police to the body? Doesn't it seem strange to anyone that someone contacted the police three times, August 11, 12, and 13th?
I don't know that I doubt the mother had something to do with this little girl's death but I suspect there is more to the story than what we know.
I also don't feel horribly sorry for the grandparents. They have to be held partially responsible. First, that they insisted their daughter keep the child, second for not recognizing that their daughter was mentally ill and shouldn't have the child, and third because the grandmother reported things like a horrible smell in the car and then recanted what she said.
6I think the denial is palpable on the grandparents part....just think of the horror you'd feel if you realized your child was a murderer and that her victim was your own sweet granddaughter???? I think they probably had the age old angel and devil struggle with trying to help the investigation.....admitting your baby is a murderer has to be a very difficult thing to do no matter how much you disagreed with your child's life choices. I'm the mother of 3 adult men, I'd want to do the right thing if any of them broke the law but I'd still be their mother so it's a tough call! How do you give life and then take it away? I'll never understand that.......
7lazybones, I don't know all the details of that. I will have to Google that and find out more. I hadn't given much thought to Kronk, but your saying that reminds me of the taped phone conversation between Caycee and her Parents where they were asking her if she thought that Caylee could still be alive or not and how far she might be, and Caycee told them that she felt in her heart that Caylee "wasn't far, she could sense her." I thought that that was such an F'ed up thing to say, here it is just a coupla months after you know you buried your daughters dead body right near your parents house, and your going to say that you know she is close, you 'have a feeling?' And when Caycee told her parents in that other ominous phone call a day later or so, that she felt that 'there are more people involved in this that you don't know about-stuff you don't know." And then when they ask her if there was another person involved she says "Let's just leave it at that, please."
Now, I haven't heard another thing about that cryptic comment OR about Kronk, so I too am very curious---I kind of had it worked out in my mind that
but it is of course entirely possible that another person was involved, like you said- the 3 phone calls that day to the police and what not, and then her comment about another person's involvement. But either way, Caycee was out parting on July 4th and before that too and she had NO compassion for her own tiny little daughter who was NOT with her and NOT with her parents and where was she? With Kronk? Sold? Adopted out but no one told anybody, and they just wanted to kill her? This is ridiculous. Can't she tell the police WHY she wasn't with Caylee and WHERE she THOUGHT she was at?? Maybe she has and we just don't know, and maybe Kronk was supposed to watch Caylee or drive her somewhere to another family, who knows, but where do the duct tape and chloroform come in? And we now know that when Caycee borrowed that shovel that day from her parents she walked approx. 15-20 minutes into the woods behind their house, found that spot by the utility area and decided she had found her daughters gravesite there- dug a 31/2 foot deep rectangular hole into the dirt and pine needles amongst the pine trees there, and left the hole for later when she would bring Caylees body back there and bury her-possible ALIVE but chloroformed so passed out- but also possibly dead and decomposing because they did have the evidence of a body decomposing in caycee anothonys trunk---
I don't know, it goes on and on but I sure would like to know. What I was curious about last night was someone on the news saying that the medical examiner was confirming that there was chloroform in Caylee's body at the time of her death; what is the point of using chloroform to temporarily put a child out, if you intend to kill the child in just a little while anyways? And why put duct tape over an already dead child's mouth, you wouldn't bother. So was Caylee alive and well and Caycee or someone else just wanted her to go to sleep for awhile, the duct tape came in when Caylee began to come to too soon or to prevent her from screaming if and when she came to, or what?
And we know that caycee herself IS the one who buried caylee because she was seen by several witnesses at the spot of the burial site, she was seen walking into the woods and out of them at dusk, with a white trash bag going in and nothing coming out, and her car was parked alongside the road. People said that area was a popular hiking area so no one thought anything of it, and she was dressed for hiking in shorts and a hat----- and a t-shirt or tank top or something like that.
Where do you think Kronk comes in?

8Lazybones I think Caycee's parents are horrible for forcing her to keep the baby and not taking it themselves then, and the mother especially for not changing her story about the smell of the decomposing body I mean she is a HUGE enabler.

9MamaD I bet you that is how they felt, but I have a hard time feeling sorry for them because I know that if my child was showing signs of being a killer I would turn him in myself and if I thought that she/he was abusing their child and I had talked to them about it to no avail I would also turn them in to child welfare services- there is a child now, a helpless baby, my loyalties have to be for the innocent child that needs protection over my own son or daughter- I could not put my grown child over my child grandchild.

10This story is just incredibly sad and bizzarre. I am not sure how or if Kronk had anything to do with it.
The chloroform, the duct tape suggest (to me) that the original intent was not murder.
Maybe she was going to sell her as a sex slave? It pains me to think such a thought let alone write it. The mother is a truely horrible person. Can't even imagine how she treated Caylee before she killed. I don't know how she could say the things she did regarding sensing Caylee was close. I don't know how she could be out partying a couple of days after her child disappeared But then again, I think there is something drastically wrong with Caycee. I don't feel sorry for her. I can't feel sorry for someone as morally corrupt as she apparently is. I am grateful that the poor child is now with God, the Father. I have to trust God's word, in that, from this horrible thing He will cause good.
I don't feel sorry for the grandparents because they owed it to that child to ensure she was being taken care of. It is not okay to turn your face to the evil works of your own child while you suspect they are harming someone else. I don't think this means you don't love the person, it just means that you recognize they are not safe for others to be around. Caycee herself needed help. I suspect she needed help long before Caylee. Her parents must have just turned a blind eye.
11\I agree lazybones, with all of that- in fact my and my siblings own at many times horrid childhoods, at the hands of our seriously mentally ill mother, while her parents turned a blind eye and allowed that to happen to us- is proof positive for me of what you say ringing true. I don't need to wonder about that; I know it.!
